If linear amps are deemed illegal, why are they allowed to be manufactured,sold and taxed at time of sale? - for sale linear bike
The linear amplifier is not in itself illegal, but some of the permitted uses. If you have a license to broadcast at 100 watts and buy a linear amplifier to signal have increased 10 watts to 100 watts, is not illegal. But if the same 100 watts into a CB, it is illegal.

Linear amplifiers are not illegal because they are used in amateur radio license. It is used illegally, such as the strengthening of the reach of CB communications.
